Jean Little, 90, of Dresden, Ohio died Friday evening, October 13, 2017 at The Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born September 17, 1927 in New Concord, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Kirk and Lucille (Forsythe) Ault and was a graduate of New Concord High School. She was also a graduate of business college and was employed for many years as an executive secretary with REA of New Concord. Mrs. Little was a member of Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church, the Dresden Garden Club and was a former member of the Dresden Order of Eastern Star. She was the pianist for the Prospect United Methodist Church and a member of their choir for many years. Jean was also a very active homemaker. She loved cooking, baking, reading and gardening, growing roses and other flowers. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Amish country. Jean had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed bird watching and all the other beauties of nature. Her greatest love was for her family and she always looked forward to holiday get-togethers.
Surviving is her loving husband of 59 years, Lester D. Little, whom she married in 1958; two sons, Steven Little and David (Deeanna) Little, both of Dresden; a daughter, Linda (Lowell Lifkin) Little of Dresden, a daughter in-law, Jody Little of Dresden; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church, 808 High Street, Dresden, with Pastor Darla Revennaugh officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
The Little family wants to give a very special thanks to the staff of The Oaks at Bethesda and to the staff of Hospice of Central Ohio for the great care given to Jean during her illness.
