Jean Marie Kinney Aronld, 88, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday evening, August 20, 2015 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born September 14, 1926 in Brohard, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Weldon and Mildred (Beegle) Kinney and was a graduate of Wirt County High School in West Virginia. She received her Bachelor's degree in education from Marietta College and her Master's degree in education from The Ohio State University. During her teaching career she taught at Marietta College and Hanover-Toboso High School where she taught Home Economics. In 1947 she came to Frazeysburg High School and taught Chemistry and Physical Education. For a while she was out of teaching in order to raise her children. She later returned to teaching, again at Frazeysburg School with Tri-Valley Local Schools, from which she retired. Mrs. Arnold is a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg. Earlier she had been a member of the Methodist faith and for many years she taught Sunday school at both Frazeysburg and Nashport Methodist Churches. In her later years she assisted her husband in the operation of their farm and she took great pride in keeping her property clean. She was often observed walking along the roadway picking up the litter.
Surviving is one daughter, Leann Shokery of Gahanna, Ohio and the father of her children, Raouf Shokery; one son, Gail J. Arnold and his wife, Marie Arnold of Frazeysburg; one granddaughter, Andrea Shokery and her husband Robbie Hayes of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two grandsons, Adam Shokery of Columbus, Ohio and Nic Rine and his wife, Meghan Rine of Frazeysburg; a great granddaughter, Paislee Grace Rine; a sister, Marilyn Richard of Granite Falls, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, William W. Arnold whom she married June 25, 1955 and who died October 28, 2006; a brother, Robert Kinney; a sister, Janet Kinney Payne and her very dear friend, Martha McNaught.
The Arnold family would like to give a very special thanks to the staff of Cedar Hill Care Center for the tremendous care given to Jean during her stay.

Graveside funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Frazeysburg Cemetery with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.
