Janice J. Lowe Leggett, 76, of Dresden, died at 8:15PM Thursday May 8, 2008 at the Adams Lane Care Center. Mrs. Leggett was born December 10, 1931 in Canton, a daughter of the late Paul Mc Peek and Leona (Jerles) McPeek Pape Morris. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and loved to garden and cook and dearly loved her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dresden. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Mark) Burr Dibari of Dresden, Robin (Scott) Bates of Midlothian, TX, Veda Adkins of Dresden; seven grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Burr, Jamie Burr, Rische (Marisa) Chadock, Jessica Bates Jones, Heidi (Aaron) Kirby, Samantha Adkins, Brianna Adkins; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Blaz, Matthew Jones, Katie Jones, Cassidy Chadock, Lauren Chadock, Victoria Kirby, Alexander Kirby, and two expectant great grandchildren and a step son, Donald Leggett. She was preceded in death by her husband William Leggett on Nov. 16, 2002; her first husband William Lowe on September 27, 1984; a grandson, Nathan Patrick Bates and two bothers, Paul and Miles McPeek. Friends may call 5-8PM Monday May 12, 2008 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday with Dr. John J. Arnold officiating.
