Janice S. Carpenter, 69, of Zanesville, passed away at her home Monday December 8, 2008. Mrs. Carpenter was born May 14, 1939 in Wellston, a daughter of the late Adran P. Cartwright and Lucille Cartwright of Zanesville. She was a graduate of Wellston High School and a member of the Dresden United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carpenter was employed at the Zanesville Pick-n-Save and had been a displayer for Home Interiors and Gifts for more than 30 years. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne N. Carpenter; her children, Brenda (Marvin) Wheeler of Nashport, Ronald Carpenter and Donald (Tammy) Carpenter both of Zanesville, Cheryl (Marlin Smith) Norman of Heath, Mark (April) Carpenter of Zanesville; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Wheeler, Ryan and Cassie Norman, Zachary, Nickalas and Lucas Carpenter, Abigail Carpenter; her twin sister, Janet Birkhimer of N. Carolina; two brothers, Francis (Laura) Cartwright of Nashport, Irvin (Rose) Cartwright of Illinois. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9PM Friday December 12, 2008 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11AM Saturday with Pastor Max Williams officiating.
