Janet Phelps Dillon, 71, of Newark, Ohio passed away October 16, 2025. Janet was born November 28, 1953 in Springfield, MA to the late Herbert and Alice (Manley) Phelps.

Janet was a loving mother to her four children and was actively involved in all of their lives. She helped develop the athletic department at Grace Haven Academy and was like a "second mom" to a lot of the kids there.

In her earlier years she was a midwife.  She delivered one of her best friend's baby. This led her to meet more friends, which soon became her family that met weekly, known as their "SIS" group. They have remained friends throughout the years.

In her spare time, Janet enjoyed spending time with friends, family and the fur babies! She enjoyed watching the Yankees and Ohio State. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time in her garden.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her two children, Travis and Lindsay Berry; and her two brothers, Thomas and Eric Phelps.

She leaves her memories to be cherished by her husband, Rod Dillon; and her daughters, Brienna (Larry) Fogall, Autumn Berry, and Shaina Berry.

A service celebrating her life will be 12p.m. Saturday, November 1st, 2025 at Vensil & Chute Funeral Home | Newark with Dave Mason officiating. Calling hours will begin at 11:00 a.m.
