Janet J. Brewer, 82, of Nashport, Ohio died Friday evening, August 15, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
Born July 24, 1932 in Newark she was a daughter of the late William and Opal (Ankrum) Rice and was a homemaker. Mrs. Brewer enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.
Surviving is one son, Tim Brewer of Newark; three daughters, Karen (Jim) Butts of Newark, Malissa Brewer of Zanesville and Lori (Raymond) Binkley of Nashport; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Danny (Joann) Rice of Newark; two sisters, Judy (Ed) Hummel and Norma Francis, both of Newark; a brother in-law, Ike Jones of Heath and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Melvin I. Brewer whom she married October 24, 1948 and who died October 24, 2009; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; three brothers, William, John and Kenny Rice; a sister Pat Jones and a daughter in-law, Debra Brewer.
Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Nashport.
