Janet Maria (Shaw) Baker, 84, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, May 1, 2025 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

Born February 15, 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Mary E. (Graham) Shaw, Sr. and a 1959 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. After high school, Janet was one of the original owners of the Frazeysburg Dairy Queen. She was a long-time member of Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church and worked at Johnston's Pharmacy for 25 years. Janet served as Frazeysburg Homecoming Grand Marshall in 1995 and was the hostess for the Frazeysburg-Nashport Alumni Banquet for 15 years. She was one of the founding members of the Ya Ya Sisters and a member of the Senior Card Club. Janet was also a member of National Trail Knitters Guild in New Concord and enjoyed crocheting, shooting, and going to flea markets.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. Janet is also survived by many friends around Frazeysburg and in the Amish community that lovingly called her "Aunt" Janet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren Baker whom she married February 5, 1961, and who died February 25, 2020; a sister, Lola Haines; two brothers, John F. Shaw, Jr. and George Shaw; two brothers in-law, Richard Crown and Loren Haines and two sisters in-law, Lois Shaw and Connie Shaw.

Friends and family may call from 3 PM to 6 PM on Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the funeral home with Reverend Ben Shaw officiating. Janet will be laid to rest next to her husband, Warren in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
