Jane (Farmer) Satterfield, 89 of Newark, formerly of Thornville, OH  died March 3, 2020 at Licking Memorial Hospital.  She was born August 31, 1930 in New Jersey to the late Herman and Adeline (Arruda) Shafer.

Jane worked as a patient cook at Licking Memorial Hospital.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting.  She loved to cook, play scrabble and she loved to argue.  She was an energetic lady, full of love and sass!

Survivors include her daughters, Cindy (Michael) Smith, Dossie Fillinger and Anna McCarty, all of Newark; several grandchildren including Dale Kerns; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Harry Farmer whom she married in 1949; her second husband, Donald Satterfield; and a sister, Eva Palmer.

The family would like to thank the Laurels of Heath for their care of Jane.

A celebration of Jane's life will take place at a later date.
