A funeral service for James J. Randolph, Sr., 65 of Newark will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Doyal McCune officiating. Mr. Randolph died Sunday evening at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born September 5, 1942 in Junction City to the late Frank and Daisy (Curry) Randolph. He was a graduate of New Lexington High School; Mr. Randolph had worked for Rockwell International. He enjoyed woodworking; model cars and rockets; and he loved fishing and mushroom hunting. Survivors include his wife, Judith Randolph of Newark; a daughter, Sharon (Jim) Adkison of Newark; a son, James J (Sarah) Randolph, II. Of Newark; sisters, Arzella (John) Dickerson of Moxahala, Patricia (Larry) Short of Lancaster; a brother, Perry (Loretta) Randolph of Thornville; 4 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 9 step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Arter; a brother, Edward Randolph; and an infant sister. Family and friends may visit noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
