James H. Lynn, 92, of Nashport, Ohio, formerly of Dresden, Ohio died Tuesday morning August 28, 2012 at his home.
Born July 29, 1920 in Dresden he was a son of the late Ernest E. and Freda D. (Graves) Lynn and was a 1938 of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Lynn was a retired farmer and he also worked for the Longaberger Company for four years. He was a member of the Dresden Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and former treasurer. He was also a member of Dresden Grange and later Richvale Grange for over 50 years and was a former Madison Township Clerk. Mr. Lynn was a very avid sports fan and enjoyed all type of sports, especially Tri-Valley High School Sports and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was secretary for many years of both his golf league and bowling league.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Dorothy M. (Kain) Lynn whom he married August 29, 1948, a daughter, Martha Ann Lynn of Nashport, a son, Dwight E. Lynn of Newcastle, Maine, his caregiver, Melissa Minner of Nashport and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Floyd Lynn and two sisters Pauline King and Erma Meredith.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. William McClelland officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
