Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG – James E. "Jim" Lacy, 90, of Nashport, Ohio died Sunday evening, May 1, 2011 at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born June 7, 1920 in Dresden, Ohio he was the son of the late Edwin and Leona (Ridgeway) Lacy and was a 1939 graduate of Jefferson High School. Mr. Lacy was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater with the U. S. Army. He retired in 1977 from Armco Steel Corporation of Zanesville. He also was a farmer and sawmill operator in Nashport for many years.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn (Harold) Brizendine of Belpre, Ohio, Donna (John) Fulton and Sharon (Alan Young) Lacy both of Nashport; seven grandchildren, James Mitchell (Mindy) Starner, Jon Michael (Millie) Starner, Victoria (Ron) Lakes, Tracy (Ashley) Spurrier, Jr., Trevor Spurrier, Kimberly (J. D. Kelly) Kessler Vickers and Kari J. Kessler; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving is his former wife, Larcena Lacy of Frazeysburg; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Beverly Morrison of Newark, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8pm Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, May 7, 2011 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Church Cemetery near Dresden.
