A funeral for James L. ?Jim? Green, 48 of Newark will be held Tuesday March 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery.Mr. Green a loving, caring son, husband, father and grandfather died Saturday March 6, 2004 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1955 in Newark, Ohio.Mr. Green was employed at Tamarack Dairy. He was a member of the Newark Eagles, a 1975 graduate of Sheridan High School, member of UAW and had served in the Army National Guard and Navy Reserve. He enjoyed camping and will be missed by his family and friends.Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Sherry (Decker) Green, whom he married June 4, 1977; mother, Annabelle (Sayatovich) Kovacs of Newark; sons, James A. (Rhonda) Decker of Newark, Brian S. (Keisha) Green of Newark; daughter, Tiffany M. (John) Thorton of Newark; grandmother, Kathleen Sayotavich of Newark; ten grandchildren; step-father, Larry E. McComb of Thornville; step-brothers, Michael (Lynn) McComb of Michigan, Henry A. (Connie) Green of Florida, Shawn (Annie) Lanndis of Newark, Eric (Nancy) Landis, St. Louisville, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.He was preceded in death by grandparents and mother-in-law, Barbara Brewer.Calling hours will be observed on Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street Newark.Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio 1984 A.
