James P. Sarchet, 75, of Dresden, who everyone knew as ?Jim? passed away Veteran?s Day November 11, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. Jim was born January 31, 1934 in Louisville, Ohio to the late Paul Nicholas Sarchet and Elsie Rostetter. Husband to the late Josephine ?Jo? (Untied) Sarchet, she died December 28, 2008 and they had been married 39 years. Father to Mike, Julie, Darlene, Brian, Nick, West, Mark and Brad. He was a loving grandfather as well as great-grandfather, brother to Dick, Sonny, Carol and Sharon. A 1952 graduate of Frazeysburg High School, he proudly served in the US Marine Corps and the US Naval Reserve. He retired from Rockwell International in Newark and the Longaberger Co. where he worked in security, mail service and as a stock manager. Jim loved to travel on his motorcycle and make people laugh with the endless jokes he told. He was very proud of the two homes he built and the work he did around them.
