Obituary

James B. Hindel, Sr., 74, of Hanover, Ohio died Tuesday morning, August 8, 2017 at his home.

Born June 10, 1943 in Coshocton, Ohio, he was a son of the late William and Leona (Camp) Hindel and was a 1961 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Hindel was employed by Owens-Corning in Newark, Ohio for 24 years and by the L. H. Marshall Company of Columbus, Ohio for 10 years. He was a member of the Crossroad Christian Church in Marne and a member of the Heath Eagles. His family was very important to him. He loved drinking coffee with his grandchildren and telling how he made it for them "extra sweet". Every other day he met with his brothers up on the hill to sit discuss the matters of the day. He enjoyed taking care of his oil well and he was considered the "handyman of all handymen".

Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Sondra (Randles) Hindel whom he married November 16, 1963; two sons, James B. (Patty) Hindel, Jr. of Hanover and Jeffery (Lynette) Hindel of Newark; two daughters, Jennifer (Doug) Guilliams of Hanover and Jody (Chris Hill) Zimmo of Pickerington, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers, Robert (Pat) Hindel, Jerry (Cheryl) Hindel and John (Dorothy) Hindel of Frazeysburg, David (Marge) Hindel, Gene (Barb) Hindel and Paul (Karen) Hindel of Dresden; two sisters, Loretta Boals of Hanover and Linda (Larry) Swingle of Philo, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William Hindel and a sister Shirley Hindel.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the funeral home with Minister Charles Horsley officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
