Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 11:00am in Hanover Cemetery with Tom Postle officiating. Mr. Cartnal, age 90, formerly of Hanover, Ohio, passed away April 29, 2008. He retired from Rock Dale Farms and was lifetime devoted Harness Horse Racing owner, breeder and trainer. He was born November 14, 1917, in Hanover, to the late Jacob F. (Gabe) Cartnal and Lillian P. Willey Cartnal Langfitt Scheffler.Mr. Cartnal was a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church, Ohio Harness Horse Racing Association and Hanover Mason Chapter 338. Jacob H. is survived by daughter, Lois (Robert) Barrick of Zanesville; son, Roger H. (Judy) Cartnal of Newark; grandchildren, Kerri (Scot) Postle of Hanover; Roger J. Cartnal; great grandchildren Alex, Byron and Emilee Postle; Katlynn Cartnal; and sister Betty (Bill) Watts of Granville.In addition to his parents, Jacob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Martha Lee, his brothers Ken Cartnal and William Cartnal; daughter in law Linda Cartnal.The family suggests contributions in lieu of flowers, in Jacob?s name, be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
