A funeral service for Jack T. ?Sonny? Knepper, 64 of Newark will be held Tuesday July 24, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Mr. Knepper died Saturday July 21, 2007 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born July 13, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jack and Kathleen (Stough) Knepper. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Charlene (Murphy) Knepper, whom he married October 22, 1967; daughter Diane (Dan) Glass of Newark; son, David (Stefani) Knepper of Newark; sisters, Sue (Bob) Wessinger of Newark, Connie (Don) Sharp of Newark, Pam (Jay) Jones of Newark; grandchildren, Hayley Glass, Cory Glass, Tyler Knepper, Courtney Knepper; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He retired in 2005 after 33 years as a hydroform operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed woodworking. He devoted many hours over the past 20 years as a volunteer for the Lakewood High School Band and the Licking County 4-H Band. He served as Chair Dad, Dorm Dad and drove the trailer for Lakewood. He was active helping and supporting the 4-H band since his children were members. Calling hours will be observed Monday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, Oho 43055-9925.
