A funeral service for Jack E. Moore, 72 of Newark will be held Friday October 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Dan Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Mr. Moore died Monday October 27, 2008 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1936 in Galena to the late John and Bertha (Bevelleheymer) Moore. He spent most of his life farming in the Croton area. He was a 1954 graduate of Big walnut High School. He attended the Croton Church of Christ, was a former member of Hartford Volunteer Fire Department. Was a member of the Hartford Fair Board for 25 years and was awarded an honorary membership. He and his wife operated the Croton Restaurant for 9 years from 1991-1999. He was devoted to his family. He especially enjoyed showing cattle at the Hartford fair with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary (Maybury) Moore, whom he married January 13, 1972; children, Eddie (Dru) Moore of Sunbury, Kenneth Snyder of Newark, Randy (Shirley) Snyder of Greensburg, Ind., Rick (Nadine) Snyder of Mt. Vernon, Kimberly (Bill) Crist of Newark; four sisters, Joann (Ralph) Boggs of Galena, Martha (Dick) Fisher of Prospect, Marilyn (Ron) Tutorow of Sunbury, Shirley (Angelo) Tiberi of Lewis Center; six grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa) Snyder of Mt. Vernon, Heather Snyder of Marysville, Courtney (Josh) Crist of Mt. Vernon, Cortney and Lauren Moore of Sunbury, Cherie (John) Closser of Newark; three great-grandchildren, Isabella ?Sweetie? Pribonic of Mt. Vernon, Rylee and Logann Closser of Newark; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dick Moore, Paul Moore, Bob Moore and grandson Justin Crist. Calling hours will be observed Thursday October 30th 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street.
