John W. ?Jack? Davis, Jr., 50, of Dresden, died at 1:15AM Wednesday November 23, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan following a three month illness. Mr. Davis was born September 6, 1955 in Zanesville, a son of the late John W. ?Jack? Davis, Sr. and Juanita J. (King) Davis of Dresden. A 1973 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, he worked at American Electric Power at the Conesville Generating Station 30 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dresden. Surviving are his wife, Valerie R. (Smith) Davis, whom he married January 15, 1977; three sons, Jeremy, Brandon, Christopher Davis all of Dresden; sister, Kim (Steve) Smith of Dresden; father and mother in law, Wayne and Agnes Smith of Dresden; brother and sister in law, Harry (Cynthia) Smith; nephews and niece, Greg (Jamie) Smith, Grant Smith, Wayne Smith, Audrey Smith, great niece and nephew, Braden and Madeline Smith, and a special aunt and uncle, Marilyn and Lester Arnold of Coshocton. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9PM Friday November 25, 2005 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1PM at the First Baptist Church in Dresden with Pastor Andy Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery.
