Jack R. Hedges, 79, of Brownsville, Ohio died Sunday morning, July 30, 2017 at his home.
Born March 11, 1938 in Frazeysburg, Ohio he was a son of the late George and Kathleen "Toots" (Miracle) Hedges. Jack was retired from Roadway Trucking Company. He also drove for B. & L. Trucking of Newark, Ohio for many years. Currently he was employed by Bowling Green Township of Licking County. He was a member of Jackson Lodge #85, F. & A. M.; the Ancient and Accepted Order of Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge and the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #867 of Zanesville. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 48 years, Iris A. (Maybury) Hedges whom he married September 26, 1969; two sons, Jack A. Hedges of McConnellsville, Ohio and Jeff S. (Jody) Hedges of Hopewell, Ohio; one daughter, Janina (Philip) Burrows of Hopewell; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Sharon) Hedges of Frazeysburg and Harold Hedges of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is his best friend, his dog "Antony"
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Calling hours will also be for one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Ronnie Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brownsville.
