Isabelle Aulabaugh Dawson, 83, of Dresden, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2020 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born June 2, 1937 in Berkley Springs, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late William O. and Carrie (Spriggs) Aulabaugh.  Isabelle was a foster daughter of the late Elmer and Anna Lancaster and spent most of her life in the Dresden area.  She attended Munson Grade School in Dresden and was a 1956 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School.

Following high school, she worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Company and that fall she met her beloved husband, Clinton O. Dawson.  She and Clinton were married the next Spring on April 14, 1957.  Together they raised a family of four children, Clinton O. Dawson, Jr., Joyce Dawson Price, Joan Dawson Rohrbaugh and Stephen Dawson.  Isabelle had a small chicken and egg business, raising Rhode Island Red chickens and selling the eggs to all her neighbors and friends.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and working in her flower garden and vegetable garden raising produce for her family.  Isabelle, who was a member of the United Church of God in Cambridge, also loved to spend time studying her bible.

As her family grew older Isabelle worked at several different positions.  She worked for Central Ohio Nutritional Center, CC Bakery, Elizabeth Jennings Catering of Dresden and Vitamin World.  For many years she was a school bus driver for Tri-Valley Schools.  A position she truly loved was as a driver for Muskingum County Head Start where she transported 3, 4 and 5 year old children in the Dresden and Zanesville area.  After her retirement from work she finished her years as a volunteer at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.  Isabelle was always pleasant and always smiling.  Her commitment to her community, her family and to God was a treasure and will be missed.

Surviving is one son, Stephen E. (Margaret) Dawson of Frazeysburg; one daughter, Joan Ellen Dawson (Jimmy) Rohrbaugh of Caldwell, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Christin, Cassandra, Catherine, Michael, Jessica, Troy, Tara, Stephen, Tyler and Travis; and seventeen great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a son in-law, Dale Price (Ginny Olson) of Dresden; a brother, Joseph Aulabaugh of Concord, New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Clinton O. Dawson, Sr. who died July 9, 2012; a son, Clinton O. Dawson, Jr. who died February 10, 2013; a daughter, Joyce Dawson Price who died November 16, 2014; two brothers, Virgil and Herbert Aulabaugh and a sister, Helen Jones.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services.  A celebration of Isabelle's life will be held at a later date.

Private funeral services will be at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor John Miller officiating.  Isabelle will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Clinton, in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
