Irene Morrison, 94, of Dresden passed away Monday morning, September 5, 2016 with her loving family at her side at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Born April 3, 1922 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Otis and Lillian Beatrice (Spinks) Smith and was a 1940 graduate of Lash High School. Mrs. Morrison was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and being with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Sue Ellen Osborne of Marysville, Ohio and Mary Ann (Dale) Leachman of Ostrander, Ohio; one son, Thomas R. (Patricia) Morrison of Zanesville; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Gloria) Smith of Marion, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbur R. Morrison whom she married December 24, 1940 and who died June 19, 1976; a son in-law, Allan Osborne; a grandson, Jeffrey Dale Osborne; a sister, Edna Powelson and two brothers, Harry Smith and Robert Smith.
Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, September 9, 2016 at the funeral home with Wayne Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
