Imojean Moorehead, 97, of Gratiot, Ohio died Friday evening, December 13, 2024 at her home with her caregiver, her daughter, Delores by her side.

Born February 12, 1927 in Gratiot, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Manta (Anderson) Ankrum and was a 1945 graduate of Hopewell High School.  Imojean was a homemaker; a member of Gratiot United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at National Trail Volunteer Fire Department.  She enjoyed reading and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sporting events.  In the summertime, you could see her outside in her swing watching the traffic on Route 40 and Interstate 70 for hours.

Surviving is a daughter and son in-law, Delores and Ted McNamara of Gratiot; two grandchildren, Kellie (Charles) Hill of Newark and Dennis (Heather) Moorehead of Zanesville.  Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Emma (Johnny) Ussery, Jarrett Hill, Parker Moorehead and Preston Moorehead; and a daughter in-law, Becki Moorehead.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, George B Moorehead, whom she married June 15, 1946 and who died July 14, 2016; a son, Dennis W. Moorehead, who died April 25, 2021; and three brothers, Quinten Ankrum, Ivan Ankrum, Jr. and Gary Ankrum.

Calling hours will be 10:00am to 1:00pm Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Bryan-Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Avenue, Zanesville.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Bryan-Hardwick Funeral Home with Mr. Donnie Phillis and Mr. Jeff Iden officiating.  Imojean will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, George, in Poplar Fork Cemetery in Gratiot.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gratiot United Methodist Church or to West Muskingum Academic Fund in memory of Imojean Moorehead and Gary Ankrum.
