Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG â?? Idamae Vickers, 89, of Frazeysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday evening, September 20, 2010, with her loving family at her side.

Born May 6, 1921 in Byesville, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dora Helen (Dyer) Robertson and was a 1939 graduate of New Concord High School and a graduate of Bliss Business College in Newark, Ohio. For many years she was a secretary in Muskingum County Commissioners office and she retired in 1986 from the Muskingum County Department of Job and Human Services. Mrs. Vickers was the oldest living member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church and was the church treasurer for many years. She taught Sunday School classes and held various offices of the United Methodist Women's organization in the local church and within the district. She was also a member and past president of the 20th Century Club of Frazeysburg and she enjoyed traveling, reading and working on the family farm.

Surviving are five daughters, Patty (Larry) Blacksten of Utica, Ohio, Peggy Earhart of Zanesville, Pam (Paul) Vensil of Frazeysburg, Penny (Gregg) Marshall of Frazeysburg and Polly (Randy) Priest of Trinway, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren, Brad (Theresa) Blacksten, Brent (Lori) Blacksten, Amy (Chris) Huey, Paul Virgil (Wendy) Vensil, Micah (Angie) Vensil, Monika (Ryan) Rushing, Brittni Vensil, Tiffany Marshall, Cody Marshall, Tucker Marshall, Sarah (Keith) Merce, Emily Priest, Molly Priest, Rachel (Tyler) Watson, Caleb Priest and Lauren Priest; twenty great grandchildren, Chase, Ryan, Zoe, Gage, Garrett, Rachael, Alex, Darcie, Courtney, Ashton, Micahla, Wyatt, Nicolas, Bryce, Tyler, Ava, Ellington, Eli, Ean and Easton; three great great grandchildren, Brodey, Audrey and Carter; a brother in law, Charles Williamson of Charlotte, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; her church family and many friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil H. Vickers, whom she married September 2, 1944 and who died December 31, 1973; a grandson, Matthew Shane Vensil; a sister Phyllis Williamson and a son in law, John Earhart.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
