A funeral service for Ida A. McClain, 86 of Heath will be Noon Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Homes at Noon with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McClain died Monday October 15, 2007 at her residence. She was born May 4, 1921 in Newark, Ohio to the late Cono and Anna (DiGiacomantonio) Ricciardo. She is survived by her son, Fred McClain of Newark; daughter, June (Joe) Taylor of Troy MI.; sister, Natalie Woolard of Newark; four grandchildren, Debbie (Jack) Goodin, Renee (David) Copper, Darla (Mark) Oyama, Kip (Judy) Taylor; nine great-grandchildren, Alex Anderson, Anthony Anderson, Jessie Gienger, Becky (Denny) Lackey, Josh Brunn, Jacob Brunn, Lain Copper, Cory Oyama, Katie Oyama; two great-great grandchildren, Cordell Walley, Chloe Lackey; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McClain was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her best friend and sister Natalie. She and her husband had traveled throughout the United States. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Silas McClain, on April 20, 1993; daughter-in-law, Betty McClain; sisters, Angeline Barsotti, Antoinette Gaulteri, Eva Klockner, Mary Kaiser; brothers, Emilio Ricciardo, Tom Ricciardo, Calvin Ricciardo and Armand Ricciardo. Calling hours will be observed Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.
