A funeral service for Ida Gretchen Galliher, 85 of Heath will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street with celebrant Deacon Patrick Wilson officiating. Visitation will be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Following the graveside service, a gathering will be held at the Bowling Green Township Community Hall in Brownsville.

Mrs. Galliher, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville, OH. She was born November 29, 1936 in Ashland, KY to James Jr. "Bill" and Martha (Allen) Caines.

She retired from flea marketing, enjoyed bingo, bluegrass music, reading Perry Mason or Nancy Drew books and watching her birds.

She is survived by her children, Debra S. (Randall L.) Nickel of Oak Harbor, OH, Norman R. Galliher of Rocky Ridge, OH, James W. Galliher of Gardens, AL, Robert D. "Dale" (Jacqueline S.) Galliher of Brownsville, OH, Theresa J. Bennett of Whitehall, OH, Patricia E. Allen of Jefferson, OH, Carolyn E. (Charles) Bussey of Glenford, OH; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister, Camilla King of Hanover, OH; her canine companion, Gismo; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Galliher whom she married on May 21, 1956; son, Stanley Donald Ray Galliher; daughter, Ida Jeanice Bourst; sister, Willetta Dava Clifton died Jan.18, 2018.
