Obituary

FRAZEYSBURG ? Howard T. Painter, 92, of Zanesville, Ohio died Thursday evening, March 27, 2008 at Genesis Extended Care and Rehabilitation Center in Zanesville. Born February 10, 1916 in Zanesville, he was a son of the late Luther and Grace Painter and was a graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mr. Painter was a retired salesman with Robertson Heating Supply Company and he later was a heating and cooling systems building inspector for the City of Zanesville. He was a member of Brighton Presbyterian Church for over fifty years and had been an Elder, a Deacon and a member of the choir. He was also a sixty year member of Frazeysburg Lodge #490, F. & A. M. and was a former member of the board of trustees at Echoing Hills Residential Village of Warsaw, Ohio. Surviving is a daughter in-law, Carol (Carl) Kaido of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Timothy L. Painter of Garden City, South Carolina and Kelly L. (Greg) Ashby of Zanesville; two great grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Ashby and Madison Ann Ashby; two step grandsonS, Mark Kaido and Mike Kaido, of Zanesville; four nieces, Leslie (Gary) Williams, Susan Showers of Zanesville, Rosalie Bush-Ryall of Louisville, Kentucky and Becky (John) Edmondson of Georgia; two nephews, Jeff (Karen) Showers of Zanesville and Vince (Linda) Showers of Illinois,; and several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha N. (Ryall) Painter, whom he married August 17, 1939 and who died December 26, 2001; two sons, Thomas L. Painter and Richard L. Painter; one daughter, Suzanne Painter; one brother, Raymond Painter and four sisters, Dorothy Swingle, Eleanor Frankel, Frances Hamilton and Patty Painter. Calling hours will be from 10:00am until Noon on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Brighton Presbyterian Church, 771 Lexington Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, March 31, 2008 at Brighton Presbyterian Church with Pastor Suellen Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Brighton Presbyterian Church.
