Obituary

Helen Leona Young, 84, of Adamsville, died Sunday evening Feb. 8, 2004 at Morrison House Hospice. Born Feb. 16, 1919 in Clarington, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Leona (Meeker) Mozena and graduated from Adamsville High School in 1936. She was a devoted member of New Hope Lutheran Church and the Eureka Grange. She and her husband Bob were charter members of the Adamsville Community Fire Department and Squad. Helen volunteered for 15 years on the squad as an EMT and worked at Bethesda Hospital nine years as a nursing assistant. For many years she and her husband were foster parents in Muskingum County. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Robert A. Young in 1998, son David A. Young in 2001, three brothers, Tom, Glenn and Jim Mozena and three nephews. Surviving are a special daughter, Charlotte Stump of Avondale, two grandchildren, Robert (Stephanie) Young of Adamsville, Rebecca (Steve) Williams of Powell, step granddaughter, Mary Ann Estep of Zanesville, 4 great grandchildren, Candice Northrup, Alanna Young, Elizabeth and Wesley Williams, her brother, Dr. Phil (Mary) Mozena of Newcomerstown, sisters in law, Norma Mozena of Dresden, with whom she made her home the past two years, Mildred Mozena of Adamsville and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9PM Thursday February 12, 2004 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Adamsville. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11AM at the New Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Genesis or New Hope Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
