Obituary
NEWARK: Helen Theresa Thompson, age 80 of Newark went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2010. She was born November 18, 1929 to the late Robert A. Lucas and Clara Lucille Simpson.
She was a member of the Newark Baptist Temple. Helen also enjoyed being a member of Vintage Voices and Teddie Dollie and Me Doll Club. Her many talents included cut glass, china painting, doll making, knitting, crocheting, tatting and sewing.
Her survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Robert K. Thompson; children, Michael (Linda) Thompson, Deborah (Gary) Bohman, Lori (Jim) Tabler, Mark (Jan) Thompson, and Holly (Chip) Santos; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; sisters Ruth (Jerry) Buxton and Jane Stevens.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Ava Graves; a sister Wanda Moore; and brothers, James Lucas and Lt. Col Kent Lucas.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor James Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058-0430.
