Helen Elizabeth McCann, 89, of Nashport, Ohio died Thursday morning, January 26, 2012 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital emergency room.
Born December 27, 1922 in Toboso, Ohio she was a daughter of the late John E. and Cora (Brill) Hewitt and was a graduate of Toboso High School. She also was a graduate of Beautician's School and was a retired self-employed beautician at Nashport. Mrs. McCann was a member of the Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Joseph D. McCann whom she married in 1940; two sons, Douglas D. (Maxine) McCann of Beaver, Ohio and Larry E. McCann of Nashport; a brother Johnny (Margaret) Hewitt of Sandusky, Ohio; a sister, Laura Jean Edwards of Nashport and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Weldon, Ray and Kenneth Hewitt and a sister, Betty Sharkey.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, January 30, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery.
