Helen E. Davis, 91, of Dresden, died at 11:30AM Sunday March 28, 2004 at Morrison House Hospice. Mrs. Davis was born July 29, 1912 near Ellis, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Mae (Rush) Longstreth. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dresden and a former member of the O.E.S. in Dresden. Surviving are a son, James (Lorilee) Davis of Canon City, Colorado; a daughter, Marjorie Lawler of Zanesville, two grandsons, Larry Eugene Lawler and Wm. (Bill) Joseph Lawler, five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, a sister in law, Eleanor Longstreth of Trinway and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Davis on February 2, 1983; a daughter, Nina Mae Davis; three brothers, Joe, Charles and Lester Longstreth and a sister, Velma McNickols. Friends may call 6-8PM Tuesday March 30, 2004 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held Wednesday at 11AM with Pastor Andrew Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
