A graveside service for Harry G. Thompson, 92 of Newark will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Thompson died Saturday, April 23, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Thompson was born May 25, 1929 in Newark to the late Harry V. and Lena (Twigg) Thompson.  A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served from 1952-1955 as an aircraft electrician. Mr. Thompson retired in 1983 after 30 years with Kaiser Aluminum.  Prior to his military service Mr. Thompson worked for Heisey Glass.  He enjoyed dirt bike riding, visiting the donut shop, repair work, dancing and talking.  He was a former Deacon and choir leader in the Southern Baptist church and a member of Newark Eagles.

Survivors include his son, Dana (Becky) Thompson of Hebron; a grandson, Eric Thompson; sisters, Joyce Whyde, Marie (John) Sunkle and Debbie Parsons, all of Newark; and a sister in-law, Peggy Thompson of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Smith)Thompson; a brother, Eddie Thompson; sisters, June Thompson, Mae Richardson and Donna Greathouse.
