A graveside funeral service for Harry E. Summers, 69 of Newark will be held Tuesday November 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairmount Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Mr. Summers died Saturday November 6, 2004 at Arlington Nursing Home. He was born April 19, 1935 in Kentucky to the late Harry James Summers and Edna Lenore (Grove) Summers-Crones.He retired from the Newark Air Force Base in 1990 with 27 years of service. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was active in the local and district levels of the AA. Mr. Summers enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing and bowling.Survivors include his wife, Theresa M. (Snelling) Summers, whom he married February 23, 1974; daughters, Lyn Jacobson of Florida, September (Mark) Wilson of Newark, Annette (Tim) Cooper of Nashport; sons, Harry L. (Mindy) Derringer, Jr. of Newark, Joseph R. (Sandy) Derringer of Newark, Christopher B. (Lisa) Derringer of Heath; brother, James L. (Charlene) Summers of Caldwell, Texas; mother-in-law, Annie Snelling of Newark; brother-in-law, Joe (Debbie) Snelling of Buckeye Lake; close friends, Tony Flyer, Chris Jerman; eighteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be observed Monday 5 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street.
