Harry “Mickey” Harper, 69, of Alexandria, Ohio died Thursday morning, August 6, 2026, at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Born July 23, 1957, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harry Junior Harper and Mary Margaret (Joseph) Coates and a 1976 graduate of Zanesville High School. Mickey was a member of the Johnstown Baptist Church and a collector of many things. He loved coaching little league baseball and softball, imparting the importance of fundamentals and fun. Mickey was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and creating wood burning art. What Mickey loved the most was his family and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings and friends.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife, Julie S. (McCoun) Harper whom he married on February 5, 1982; bonus mother, Viki Hall; three children, Harry “Joe” Harper, Samantha Harper, and Daniel (Ashley) Harper; four grandsons, Nolan, Robert “Bobby”, Daniel V., and Cory; seven siblings, Veronica Harper, Barbie (Randy) Tyson, Brenda (Patrick) Mason, Brent (Lisa) Harper, Roseanne (Mike) Kinder, Jason (Mindi) Osborne, and Heather (Jeremy) Osborne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends may visit 4 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil | Wagner | Marshall Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Sharrock officiating.
Mickey will be laid to rest in Plainfield Cemetery in Coshocton County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
