Harry "Hap" Williamson, 89, of Newark, Ohio died Wednesday morning, November 14, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark.

Born September 14, 1929 in Jackson Township of Muskingum County he was a son of the late Harry O. and Helen M. (McKnight) Williamson and was a 1947 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Hap was employed at Owens-Corning for many years but he also loved farming, which he did for most of his life.  He was also very active in his Christian faith and was a member of the Licking Valley Church of Christ.  Over the years he preached at several area churches.

Surviving is his loving wife of 71 years, Dolores F. (Sharp) Williamson whom he married June 11, 1947; a daughter, Carole Anderson of Hebron, Ohio; two sons, Robert Williamson of Newark and John (Margo) Williamson of Coshocton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Robison and Opal Varner and three brothers, Floyd, Leslie and Elbert Williamson.

A celebration of Hap's life will be a 4:00pm Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Licking Valley Church of Christ, 1587 Dayton Road NE, Newark, Ohio with Minister Gus Andrews officiating. Calling hours will be from 3:30pm to 4pm.
