Harrison J. ?Dunk? Lacy, 84, of Dresden, died at 10:15AM Friday March 3, 2006 at the Somerset HealthCare Center where he had been a resident for the past two years. Mr. Lacy was born June 26, 1921 in Dresden, a son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Anna Bell (Jones) Lacy. An Army veteran of WWII, he served in the European Theatre with the 130th Station Hospital attached to the 104th Infantry Division. Mr. Lacy retired from Stone Container Corp. in Coshocton and spent many years as a hog farmer in Dresden. He was a member of the Charles M. Mitchell Post #399 American Legion. Mr. Lacy enjoyed spending several winters with his wife, fishing in Florida on Lake Okeechobee following his retirement. Surviving are his daughter, Connie J. (Douglas E.) Strohl of Junction City; grandchildren, Aaron R. (Kari) Hamilton of Junction City, Shawn D. (Donna) Strohl of Hortense, GA, great grandchild, Hayden D. Strohl of Hortense, GA and two sisters, Dorothy Shroyer and Harriett (Robert) Damron both of Dresden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine L. (Mangin) Lacy on October 1, 2003, they had been married on March 8, 1943 in Abilene, Texas; an infant son, James Edward Lacy, brothers, John, Carl, Virgil and Everett Lacy and sisters, Evelyn Marvin and Ethel Smythe. Friends may call from 6-8PM Sunday at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10AM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Mary L.
