A funeral service for Harold B. ?Spick? Wright, 92 of Newark will be held Tuesday September 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 N. 5th Street, Newark with Rev. William J. Rauch officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph?s Cemetery. Mr. Wright died Saturday September 18, 2004 at the Heritage Unit of Newark Healthcare Centre. He was born July 31, 1912 in Newark, Ohio to the late James Raymond and Effel (Benner) Wright. Mr. Wright was employed 44 years with Pure Oil & Union Oil Refinery. He also had five years service with the Ohio State Liquor Control. Mr. Wright was a member of St. Paul?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newark Maennerchor, Newark BPOE # 419. Mr. Wright coached the Best Jewelers Little League team and the Rockwell Manufacturing Babe Ruth team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also bowled for the Pure Oil League and Newark Allstar League. He is survived by his son, Dave (Linda Pickett) Wright of Columbus, daughters, Suzanne (Joe) Hollister of Newark, Barb (Randy) Boesch of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Robert (Nancy) Wright, D.D.S. of Newark; sister Margaret Ann (David) Dane of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Jay Wright, Jeff (Lisa) Wright of Columbus, Carrie (Brian) Gibbons of Indianapolis, Aimee Hollister of Urbana, Mike (Stephanie) Hollister and Brandon Boesch of Las Vegas, Nev.; great granddaughter, Mackenzie Gibbons and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Betty J. (Schenk) Wright who died June 1, 1997; three sisters Mary Frances Slanker, Martha Grace Miller, Jean Porzack and his brother James W. Wright. Calling hours will be observed Monday 6 to 9 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street.
