Harold R. Hall, 77, of Dresden, died at 4:25AM Saturday June 5, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Hall was born May 24, 1933 in Dresden, a son of the late Joseph and O. Ruth (Bowden) Hall. A life-long resident of Dresden, he graduated from Jefferson High School and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. From 1955-1995, Mr. Hall had worked at the Rockwell plant in Newark. He was a member of the Charles M. Mitchell Post #399 American Legion and the VFW in Dresden as well as Dresden Lodge #103 F.&A.M. As a member of the Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church, he was the youngest member to join the church at age 7 in 1940 and had served as an Elder and Deacon.. He had faithfully manned the Salvation Army kettle in front of the former Dresden IGA for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen (King) Hall, whom he married July 29, 1956; children, Stephen W. (Anne Marie Picard) Hall of Dresden, Cynthia (Jonathan) Land of Newark, John (Julia) Hall of Dresden; six grandchildren, Casey and Craig Hall, Adam and Aaron Price, Stacey and John (Buddy) Hall; three step grandchildren, Josh Lane and Chelsey and Cory Scaggs; one great granddaughter, Espen Hall and several step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dayle and Ronald Hall and two sisters, Elinor Hall and Beatrice Utts.
Friends may call 5-8PM Tuesday June 8, 2010 at the Dresden Madison Presbyterian Church, where Masonic services will be held at 8PM. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Wednesday at the church with Dr. William McClelland officiating. The Dresden American Legion and VFW will conduct military services at the Dresden Cemetery following the service at the church.
