Gyneth M. Bice, 82 of Dresden died Wednesday June 4, 2014 at the Oaks at Northpointe. She was born August 11, 1931 in Muskingum County to the late Walter and Clare (McKee) Acord.

Mrs. Bice is retired from the Tri-Valley Schools where she was a cook. She enjoyed sewing and did many alterations. She spent many hours outdoors. She cared for her flowers and raised a vegetable garden canning the summer produce. She attended the Dresden United Methodist Church. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She is survived by her son, Phillip (Debbie) Bice of Dresden; grandchildren, Brittany (Brandon) Rice, Brandon (Kaylee) Bice, Brook Bice, Adam (Bethany) Swope, Lance Swope, step-grandchildren, Kelsey (Nate) Wrather, Kenzie (Adam) Wrather, great-grandchildren, Bailey Rice, Hannah Swope, Averie Swope; sisters, Thelma (Forrest) Smythe of Newark, Alma (Ralph) Wright of Hanover , Nancy (Arlan) Zimmerman of Newark, Genevieve (Carl) Moran of Newark ; brothers, Ronald (Sheila) Acord of Buckeye Lake, Wayne (Martha) Acord of St. Louisville, Emerson (Phyllis) Acord of Hanover; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Bice in 1998; daughter, Tammy Swope in 2012; brother, Kenneth Acord.

A private funeral service will be conducted with burial in Dresden Cemetery.
