Memorial services for Gwendolyn Belle Johnson, 66 of Newark will be held Wednesday December 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute funeral Home 1850 West Main Street Newark with Rev. Tom Myers officiating. Mrs. Johnson died Monday December 12, 2005 at her residence. She was born February 4, 1939 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Charles Benson and Florence (Smith) Owens. She was employed as a State Tested Nurse?s Aide at the Village of Westerville. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. Survivors include her husband James R. Johnson whom she married October 23, 1981; daughters, Cynthia Kay Cox of Newark, Laurie Ann Oswald & Michelle Rundo of Columbus; sons, Thomas Howard Oswald, Jr. & Patricia O?Neill of Newark, Mark Alan Oswald & Don Bobbitt of Washington C.H., James Joshua Johnson of Newark; step-children, Tim Johnson and Tommy Johnson both of Saginaw, Michigan, Shawn Johnson of Houston, Texas, Shannan Johnson of Dayton; sisters, Margaret Gayle (Ross) Walker of Oveido, Florida, June Faye (Wayne) Price of Clarksville, Tenn., Julia (James) Cleaver of Paris, Kentucky; brother, Jack (Linda) Walkernagle of Columbus; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
