Grace E. Pence, 90, of Dresden, Ohio died Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born October 27, 1925 in Beverly, Ohio she was a daughter of the late James L. and Vesta (Alberry) Lambert and was a 1943 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Pence was a retired seamstress having worked for many years at Ivy Terrace Company in Goshen, Indiana and for Edmont-Wilson Company in Coshocton, Ohio. She enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles and solving cryptograms. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Grace A. (Danny) Hanshew of Goshen, Indiana, Linda L. (Daryl) Yoder and Barbara C. (Gary) Downs, both of Elkhart, Indiana; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Delbert Earl "Buck" Pence whom she married November 21, 1945 and who died September 14, 1965; a son Timmy L. Pence who died December 15, 2011 and two sisters, Helen Mooreland and Thelma Lewis.
Calling hours will be from 2pm to 6pm Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, February 22, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor James Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
