Obituary

Gordon "Hank" K. Moran, 95, of Newark, Ohio died Sunday night, October 26, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.

Born August 12, 1930 in Fallsbury Township, Licking County, Ohio, he was a son of the late Lloyd T. and Agnes I. (Clark) Moran and proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked at Newark Air Force Station until he retired in 1988. Gordon was a member of the Perryton Church of Christ where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was baptized in 1997. He was a past member of American Legion in Hanover, Post 763 and was affectionately known as "Happy Hank", later shortened to "Hank", because of his quick wit and his love of making others laugh.

Gordon was a committed and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, and never said no to a good buffet. Gordon was a hard worker and industrious, often using his skills to help others whenever he could. He loved to spend time with his family and teach them new skills. He was especially happy to teach his grandchildren anything about hunting, fishing, or growing their own food. Gordon was a man who loved his family deeply and was extremely proud of each of them.

Surviving are his daughters, Linda Jo (Denny) Ghiloni of Newark, Pamela L. (Jesse) Parrill of Frazeysburg and Paula L. (Greg) Reich of Johnstown; six grandchildren, Keith Gambill, Mark Reed, Jennifer (Kyle) Croft, Jessica (Craig) Wolford, Sarah (Jared) Henderson and Ava Reich; sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil Moran of Thornville and Glen Moran of Newark; three sisters, Faye Sandusky of Rock Falls, Illinois, Lila Jean Jones of Warsaw, and Mona (Jim) Warden of Warsaw and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Jo Moran whom he married August 26, 1955 and who died February 16, 1997; a daughter, Marilyn Stokes who died January 15, 2005 and a brother, Marion Moran.
