FRAZEYSBURG – Gladys Rowena Moore, 94, of Nashport, Ohio died Saturday morning, April 23, 2011 at her home.
Born June 20, 1916 in Adamsville, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Maggie Alice (Hardesty) Wisecarver. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Nashport-Irville United Methodist Church. For many years she was head cook at old Nashport School and she retired from Good Samaritan Medical Center where she had been head cook for 27 years. She enjoyed living in the country watching the wildlife and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Marlene (Jerome) Durant and Della M. Moore, both of Nashport; one son Ben T. (Rebecca) Moore, Jr. of Nashport; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Benjamin T. Moore, Sr. whom she married June 20, 1937 and who died March 9, 1969; a granddaughter Pamela Sue Durant who died April 11, 1986; a sister, Ollie Campbell and seven brothers, Vibert, Chancy, Jay, Homer, Milo, Ernie and Millard Wisecarver.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
