Gladys M. Hindle, 90, of Zanesville, died at 7:05AM Thursday April 8, 2004 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville. Mrs. Hindle was born October 21, 1913 in Dresden, a daughter of the late Carey and Rhoda (Sparks) McDonald. She had worked at the Bush Woolen Mill in Dresden and was a member of Northside Church of the Nazarene in Zanesville. Mrs. Hindle had been a volunteer at Bethesda Hospital for many years. Surviving are her daughter, Carol (Jim) Hoefler of Zanesville, a sister, Florence Lopez of San Diego, California, four grandchildren, Chad (Makiri) Hoefler of Amherst, Mass., Amy (Jeff) McLendon of Nashport, Katrina (James) Wells of Nashville, Tenn., and Adam Hoefler of Athens, Ohio, one great grandson, Henry McLendon and two nieces, Marjorie Connelly and Gloria King both of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Hindle on March 22, 1980. Friends may call 6-8PM Friday April 9, 2004 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held on Saturday at 2PM with Pastor James Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Univeristy-Zanesville Scholarship Fund; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
