FRAZEYSBURG ? Funeral services for Gilbert C. Warner, 88, of Hanover, Ohio will be 11:00am Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance conducting military honors. Mr. Warner died Monday evening, December 29, 2008 at Autumn Health Care Center in Newark, Ohio. Born September 16, 1920 in Buckhannon, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Edgar and Cosbi (Teets) Warner and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Warner retired in 1982 from the Kroger Company of Columbus where he had been a truck driver for 26 years. He was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of Jeffersonville Lodge #468, F. & A. M. for over fifty years. Surviving is one son, Robert A. (Lyn) Warner of Bloomingburg, Ohio; two daughters, Jane (Brooks) Beery of London, Ohio and Lucinda (Glenn) Gulick of Orient, Ohio; one sister, Betty Gaunt of Buckhannon, West Virginia; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, H. Marjorie Warner, whom he married March 14, 1976 and who died March 21, 2001; a son Gilbert C. (Donna) Warner, Jr.; a brother, Henry H. Warner; and three sisters, Eleanor Mackey, Addie Mason and Myrtle Ward. Calling hours will be 4pm to 7pm Friday, January 2, 2009 at the funeral home, 110 West Third Street, with Masonic services being conducted at 7:00pm.
