A funeral service for Marjorie Geraldine (Richardson) Manuel will be held Saturday March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Crooksville, Ohio. Geri died Wednesday March 4, 2009 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born October 8, 1922 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Bertram S. and Lena M. (Larson) Richardson. Geri taught piano for 65 years, and each student was very special to her. Geri played organ in the church for most of her life. Geri?s family would like to acknowledge and thank LMH, ICU staff and Chaplain Jeff Smith for their extraordinary care. Geri?s faith and love of family were strong. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, James D. Manuel, whom she married May 15, 1976; two sons, Jack (Saundra) Shinn of Newark, Harold Shinn of Harrisburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Lydia (George) Miller, Jack (Marie) Shinn, II, Sean Shinn; six great-grandchildren, Jordan (Lyndsi) Miller, Alyssa Miller, Cameron Miller, Samantha Shinn, David Phillips; sister, Ellen Sims of Tarpon Springs, FL.; eleven nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Geri was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Huth; two brothers, Major Morris Richardson and Lt. Colonel Bertram Richardson. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main St. The family requests contributions to your favorite charity.
