A memorial service for Geraldine Nitzsche Spencer, 78 of Newark formerly of Stow, Ohio will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Road with Pastor Barry French officiating. Her ashes will be interred at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Mrs. Spencer died Sunday February 10, 2008 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to the late Garnett and Ora (Lee) Snider. She is survived by her husband, Walter Douglas Spencer of Florida; son, Douglas E. (Mary) Nitzsche of Tallmadge, Ohio; daughters, Deborah (David) Morrison of Newark, Pamela (Mike) Groom of Stow, Ohio; brother, Robert (Wanda) Snider of Canal Fulton, Ohio; seven grandsons, Michael, Sean, Craig Morrison, Richard, Jeff Nitzsche, Chad, Evan Groom; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Chapter in Kent, Ohio. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Snider, Carl Snider, David Snider; two sisters, Evelyn Ayers and Jean Strain.
