Geraldine E. Schneck, 80, formerly of Dresden and Florida, died Tuesday September 21, 2004 at the home of her grandson in Cartersville, Georgia. Mrs. Schneck was born October 26, 1923 to the late Merton and Edith (Bennett) Preston. She was a member of St. Ann?s Catholic Church while in Dresden. While living in Lakeland, Florida she attended St. Joseph?s Church and after her husband?s death she was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Lakeland. Surviving are grandsons, Earl (Mary) Mitchell of Cartersville, Georgia, James Mitchell of Lakeland, Florida, two great grandsons, Chad Meier and Jonathan Mitchell; two great great grandsons, Cody and Carter Mitchell. Her husband, John J. Schneck preceded her in death on March 10, 1996, her son Geoffrey B. Schneck on May 8, 2002, as well as a brother, Bill Preston and a sister, Ethel Sims. Friends may call from 9:30AM to 10:30AM Saturday October 9, 2004 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:30AM in the Dresden Cemetery with Father Jack Maynard officiating.
