Obituary

Gerald "Bud" Wortman, 83, of Adamsville, Ohio died Monday morning, May 9, 2016 at Beckett House in New Concord, Ohio.
Born November 12, 1932 in Adams Township of Muskingum County he was the son of the late Emery and Alice (King) Wortman and was a 1950 graduate of Adamsville High School. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Bud was a member of Hubbard Lodge #220, F. & A. M.; the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Laura Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Muskingum County Farm Bureau. He retired in 1990 with 38 years of service from Armco/AK Steel where he was a turn foreman.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Martha L. (Smith) Wortman whom he married May 26, 1956; a son Gary (Michele) Wortman of Orrville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Tyler and Kaitlin Wortman and a sister, Florence Irene Williams of Adamsville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori A. Wortman who died August 16, 2010.
Calling hours will be 2 to4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Adamsville Community Center, Madison Street, Adamsville, Ohio. Hubbard Lodge will conduct Masonic services at 8pm Thursday, following calling hours.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Adamsville Community Center. Burial will be in Adamsville Baptist Cemetery.
