A funeral service for Gerald "Nick" Esworthy will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Cory Campbell officiating.  Burial will be at Hanover Cemetery.

Nick passed away December 19, 2024 at Licking Memorial Hospital.  He was born July 29, 1949 in Newark to the late Lee and Hazel Esworthy.  Nick was a graduate of Newark High School and retired from Owens-Corning.  He was a member of Newark Lodge #97 F&AM.

Nick loved his daughters and grandchildren and enjoyed following their activities. He also enjoyed classic cars and working in the garage. He was a "Jack of all Trades".

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane (Victor) Esworthy; a daughter, Kelli (Nathan) Miller of Normal, IL; grandchildren, Emilee, Grant and Lyza Miller, all of Normal, IL, Kelsi (Sawyer) Leppla of Cambridge, OH, and Kory Thompson of Nashville, TN; and a great grandson, Houston Leppla.

In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheri Thompson.

Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service from10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
