A memorial service for Gerald W. Boring, 67 of Thornville will be held Thursday October 11, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Homes with Rev. Robert L. Knox officiating. Mr. Boring died Sunday October 7, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born June 28, 1940 in Newark to the late Carl and Fern (Flenner) Boring. Mr. Boring retired from Honeywell Securities in Columbus. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge # 2434, Newark Moose Lodge # 499, Thornville Amvets Post 51 , Newark Eagles 387 and Faith United Methodist Church. He loved spending time boating, fishing and traveling. He is survived by his companion of 38 years, Judy Marshall; daughter, Jennifer (Keith) Warnick of Worthington; sons, Josh Boring of Petersburg, Ind., Jeremy Boring of Pickerington, Justin Boring of Whitehall; sister, Norma Shade of Thornport; grandchildren, Emily Warnick, Kelly Warnick, Brian Warnick, Jimmy Boring, Jessica Boring, Katie Boring and Morgan Boring.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla. Visitation will be held on Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.Newark Moose Lodge will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooseheart Child City & School, Inc., Mooseheart, IL. 60539 Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
